Financial Assistance Program

The Denver Health Financial Assistance Program (DFAP) is a Denver Health program that helps pay for health services provided by Denver Health providers. Patients who do not qualify for Medicaid, CICP or the CHP+ plan may qualify for DFAP. Eligibility is based on family size and income. DFAP is not health insurance. It cannot be used with any other health insurance program, including Medicaid and Medicare.

Medical Care

DFAP is a discount program that helps lower the cost of health care services received at Denver Health.

You will only have to pay a flat fee/co-payment for ALL care. The charge is based on the type of medical care or service being provided. These fees will be your only cost. This new payment structure will likely lower the cost of care in many cases. Except in emergency situations, you will be asked to make payment at time you get care.

Dental Care

DFAP also helps pay for Dental Services for some Denver County residents if they do not have an insurance plan or medical assistance program to cover these services. Eligibility is based on family size, income and resources.

DFAP Dental helps pay for a portion of some dental services so patients do not have to pay the full amount. With DFAP Dental, patients pay a percentage of the charges for the services provided. The percentage that the patient pays is based on family size, income and resources. Except in emergency situations, patients are required to pay a deposit before receiving services. The deposit is based on family size, income and resources.

Clinica Colorado

Since June 2011, Clinica Colorado has served populations in Adams County and surrounding areas with low cost, primary health care, especially for those who are uninsured. In Colorado, it is estimated that there remain 350,000 without health insurance even after the implementation of the Affordable Care Act. There may be many reasons that individuals and families are not covered by health insurance and that is who we serve.

Since we opened, we have had over 44,000 patient visits! Our goal is to serve individuals of all ages, including entire families.

No Cost Mental Wellbeing Support for Immigrants – DCAC

Our Immigrant Family Initiative provides mental health services specifically to families and children who are experiencing trauma or stress as a result of their immigration status or situation.

As an Enrollment Center for Connect for Health Colorado, our health enrollment program can assist with coverage options from Medicaid, Child Health Plan Plus, ACA Plans and Tax Credits, and OmniSalud, specifically for undocumented individuals and families.

Low-Cost and Free Screenings at Health Fairs
Register online or walk in day of to receive affordable, high-quality health screenings of your choice. You will also have access to free preventive health screenings (varies by location), free vaccinations, a chance to talk to a medical professional one-on-one, and an opportunity to get more information on a range of health topics.

Imagine! offers services to people with intellectual or developmental disabilities. Some programs are offered regardless of immigration status.

Trauma & Disaster Recovery Clinic at DU

The Trauma & Disaster Recovery Clinic (TDRC) provides psychological support to individuals and communities who have experienced stress, adversity and/or trauma. We utilize an integrative, need and strengths-based approach that is culturally informed. Our services are continually evaluated to ensure effectiveness and are not restricted by status.
